So far I love my broadfork. I am waiting for better conditions to use it , but have tried it our in a few areas of my yard and it is a beast. I live in the south with red rocky clay that deadpans and is hard to hoe. While I do run into rocks and have to adjust the position of the fork, It works so well to loose the soil and release roots of weeds and difficult grass. I am so glad I took the plunge and bought one.

By the way, I am a 60's + female and have no trouble using it. I wondered if it would take more strength or effort then I could give, but I have no problem using it.

Solid

This is the SOLID craftsmanship I’ve been looking for. In a world full of cheap disposable items, this is not that! This tool will be used for decades to come.

Really well made!

I bought this broadfork to turn some hard-packed soil in preparation for seeding it with grass. Not only is the soil very clay-like, there were also many places with roots (maybe 1" in diameter) below the surface.

The broadfork did exactly what I needed in that difficult soil! I was able to do all the work on my own, using mostly my body weight, and occasionally a bit of elbow grease to pry up the roots.

Best of all, I never once felt as though the tines might bend or detach from the fork, or that the handles might come loose from the fork -- it always felt sturdy and solid. Very happy with the way it performed!
