Our Farmer's broadfork is a beefy, heavy, deep-cultivation tool that you probably don't want. Seriously. Unless you're a professional farmer, cultivating root crops, and you know that extra-deep cultivation of your parsnips and other root crops will pay off at market. Heavy and harder to use than our other models, this tool provides ultra deep digging, best for established beds and experienced farmers. A serious tool. Weight: 25 lb. Tine length: 16". Width: 20". The tool arrived well secured in the shipping carton. Have anticipated spring but will need to wait a few weeks yet.
Heavy Duty is an understatement. This fork is 100% beef.The fork is super duper heavy duty, which works well for me as a full figured man. All the steel is thick, the tines being the thickest, I think. It's also surprisingly light weight, given the build. It works very very well. I have rocky fill that needs remediation and this has turned out to be the best option for me thus far. The rocks, I think, will work thier way up with time . It's a good way to start punching some holes in the soil so that the earth can breath, and it does a great job of making the soil much more workable. It might not be indestructible, but it's close to it. The fork was extremely well packaged as well. It's expensive, but it's a lifetime tool, a one time purchase and I think for a gardener or mini farmer, it'll do you better than a tiller in the long run. I highly recommend this product. It is a very much improved u-bar for biointensive growing and bioremediation and restoration work.
We have had one of these for 9 years. It regularly gets left out in the rain and elements and is in great condition like the day we got it. Works well on both clay and sandy soil. Love this tool it has helped us transform soil in multiple places.
