Our Farmer's broadfork is a beefy, heavy, deep-cultivation tool that you probably don't want. Seriously. Unless you're a professional farmer, cultivating root crops, and you know that extra-deep cultivation of your parsnips and other root crops will pay off at market. Heavy and harder to use than our other models, this tool provides ultra deep digging, best for established beds and experienced farmers. A serious tool. Weight: 25 lb. Tine length: 16". Width: 20". Handles: 48".

This is a tool to be proud of. Wicked strong and beautiful. So happy to add to my collection.
Very satisfied. I debated going with the 14 or 16 inch broadfork as the handles were a bit longer for the former but the latter was a bit wider and heavier I think. I went with the latter and it wasn't as massive as I worried from the available description. I'm 6', 195 and it felt about right. Only suggestion is to weld two small flat pedals to the top of the cross bar so that feet don't slip off when wearing hard soled boots. Otherwise, very satistifed.
As a biodynamic farmer committed to no-till practices, I rarely use even a power harrow, only to break ground initially. After that, this broadfork is my go-to tool for maintaining soil structure, aerating deeply, and preserving microbial life and biodiversity. It takes some muscle, especially in compacted South Carolina clay, but it's well worth the effort.
I already have one of these at the farm (16-inch) and decided to get a second for my home garden (14-inch), along with the Meadow Creature weed puller. After just one use, especially following heavy rains, I’ve already seen at least a 50% reduction in water pooling across the yard, which is not to mention the benefits amongst my fruit trees (including using this tool to assist break up the deep clay soild for tree holes/planting), perennial areas and vegetable beds in the terraces/outside of the lawn. I’m excited to see what another couple seasons of forking will do to help transform this dense red soil into rich, living black soil. A fantastic tool for anyone serious about soil health.
Very high quality.
I am a no till gardener who has used my Meadow Creature in combination with annual cover crop in g to turn clay hardpan into 30” beds that I can bury the 16” tines into with very little effort. Nothing comes close to the Meadow Creature for quality and durability.
